$2.50 evening dress!

I have to gush, I just can't help it! But the dress in the photo I just posted was only TWO DOLLARS AND FIFTY CENTS! I couldn't believe it! I saw it on the hangar and practically ran to the register in case someone realized the price mistake. I didn't even care if it fit me, I needed to rescue it...I tried it on when I got home, and it was like it was custom made for me...And there is not a thing wrong with it...No snags, pulls, zipper and french hooks in tact, and the velvet is soft as butter...

...Ah, warm fuzzies...

YAY Darla! It looks fantastic on you!

It's always so much more fun to find something great at an incredible price. I always feel excited to have seen the possibilities in something that someone else devalued.

that is so cute! I got a killer deal on this beautiful coat at the Humane Society thrift store in Reno over Turkey Day weekend. Everything was 50% off, so I got it for $7.50. You can get the idea in this picture:

This kept me SO WARM in Europe a couple weeks ago!

Stories like these warm my heart...

...In a similar vein, a woman came into my store today wanting to sell a bunch of stuff off to my boss....She had two boxes filled with vintage shoes...for $3 and $5...My boss has a very strict policy regarding his employees buying stuff from dealers in his store at dealer prices...He must buy them, and then his employees buys the merchandise from him...Anyway, I was digging through the boxes and came across 3 pair of shoes that I loved...I told him to get them...he told me to go ahead and just buy them directly....I got two of the CUTEST pair of '40's peep toes, one suede pair, one leather pair...and another pair of shoes from the '60's that are totally unique...I paid $3 per pair...I was ecstatic! (Not that I needed another pair of vintage shoes...My fiance is going to freak out when he sees the collection I've amassed when I move into the house with him....)
